on being a homemaker

I have been thinking about my year as a SAHM and homemaker. I have been keeping house. I take care of Chris every day and I take care of day to day living. Occupational therapists assess skills called activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living when they are assessing someone's ability to live independently. I realized I spend most of my time on childcare and IADL's- shopping (mostly grocery), fixing food, and doing laundry. Sometimes I feel like I am "the help". I'm looking forward to more sharing of those responsibilities when I go back to work.

  1. you certainly do end up doing a lot of the chores when you are the one at home all day....
