We're back! We spent Christmas in California with Doug's family, and had a wonderful week. Chris had his first airplane flight and did really well. On the way out, he was awake for the whole trip except for the last 15 minutes of the flight. He did need constant entertaining, but he didn't cry or fuss. He took his Nuk pacifier well. There was some drama in the airport. We got to the airport two hours early and checked our bags. We got through security without any problems. We sat down for lunch when Doug got a phone call from an 800 number. He looked at it and decided not to answer it. However, a couple of minutes later, Doug got a worried and surprised look and said he thought he knew what it was. He checked his voicemail, and the 800 number was United notifying us that our flight had been cancelled. That was less than two hours from when our flight was supposed to depart. All of our stuff had been checked except for his backpack, the diaper bag, and the stroller. Doug then abandoned his lunch (and his beer) and scrambled to get us on another flight, which he was able to do. However, the alternate flight went to San Jose rather than San Francisco. When we got to San Jose, our bags had arrived, but our car seat had not. It turned out the car seat went to San Francisco. United gave us a loaner, and then they dropped off the seat at the house the next day.
