industrial ruins

I drive by this abandoned factory on the way to work. It is somewhat melancholy, dark at night. But I like to look at it. There is a large clock face above one of the Broadway entrances, frozen in time. I can imagine workers rushing in, to beat the clock, and put in a full day doing one repetitive task all day, every day, for decades. The factory is the former Gates Rubber Company. One of the main buildings was built in 1917. The factory was closed in the 1970s. It is a reminder of times when things were actually made in America.
